EFForTS Education
Dear users of EFForTS Education,
We invite you to encounter research on oil palm management strategies for a more sustainable future. You can learn about the impact of oil-palm plantations on the environment and human welfare. Our educational units are based on evidence of EFForTS research in Jambi/Sumatra. Our units offer science-based knowledge to make decisions for more sustainable oil palm cultivation.
Moreover, you can acquire competencies, e.g., for
After mastering our educational units, you will be able to apply your knowledge and your competencies to other issues relevant to society. Inspired by EFForTS Education, colleagues from Ganesha University of Education developed an educational unit on integrated management of a disease in citrus plants (CVPD see below).
We thank all partners – researchers, lectures and students, who were involved in the development of EFForTS Education - for their contributions. Terima Kasih.
Please enjoy your educational experience!

Collaborative Research Centre 990: Ecological and Socioeconomic Functions of Tropical Lowland Rainforest Transformation Systems
Ecological and Socioeconomic Functions of Tropical Lowland Rainforest Transformation Systems (EFForTS) is a Collaborative Research Centre 990 funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Over 160 researchers of disciplines such as ecology, forestry, economics, and anthropology from the University of Göttingen in Germany work together with researchers from Indonesian partner universities. Two interdisciplinary projects of EFForTS are the Oil Palm Management Experiment (OPMX) and the Biodiversity Enrichment Experiment (BEE). Both contribute to the science base for more sustainable oil palm cultivation.
