Decision-makers, scientists and oil palm farmers need to understand how the different phases of oil palm management are intertwined. Therefore, this module combines your knowledge on maintenance of oil palm management and the network of relationships.
You will learn about the Oil Palm Management Experiment (OPMX), which evaluates alternatives to current (conventional) fertilizer and weeding management practices, i.e., for example, reducing the negative impacts on ecosystem functions and biodiversity, while maintaining high oil palm production levels. You will critically analyze the research and research findings of the OPMX.
